Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how the Modern Master Key mobile app ("App") handles information. It applies to the App experience across supported mobile platforms, including Android and iOS. It applies to the App only. Website data practices may differ and are described on the website separately.
2. Personal Data We Collect
We do not require account creation and we do not collect personal information through the App, including:
- Name, email address, phone number, or mailing address
- Precise location data
- Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data
- Advertising identifiers for tracking
3. Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following data locally on your device to provide core functionality:
- Reading progress (completed parts, last viewed part)
- Reading streak and reminder settings
- Display preferences (reading mode/theme preferences)
- App state needed for features such as onboarding and navigation
This data is stored locally (for example, platform app storage) and is not sent to our servers by the App.
On iOS, if you enable optional iCloud sync for Focus Training, your focus-training snapshot data (for example progress, reflections, and related settings) is synced via your personal iCloud account to support continuity across your own devices.
4. Permissions
On Android 13+ the App may request the POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission if you enable weekly reminders. This permission is optional and used only to deliver reminder notifications.
5. Third-Party Services in the App
The App does not include third-party analytics SDKs, ad SDKs, or in-app tracking SDKs.
The App may open external links (for example, website or social pages) in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
6. Backups
Because data is stored on-device, it may be included in Apple iCloud backups or Android device backup systems depending on your device settings. Backup behavior is controlled by your device and platform settings.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- You can reset in-app progress and settings using in-app controls.
- Uninstalling the App removes app data from the device (subject to platform backup/restore behavior).
8. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the App.
9. International Transfers
The App does not transmit personal data to our servers, so we do not perform cross-border transfers of App-collected personal data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post updates on this page and revise the "Last Updated" date.
